Kenaikan harga minyak memberikan kesan yang amat terhadap ekonomi dan perbelanjaan harian. Keadaan sekarang terlalu membebankan. Harga beras naik, segala keperluan harian semua naik tetapi kesannya pada jangka pendek tidak nampak. Kita tidak menghalang kenaikan harga barang keperluan kerana barang2 dibawa memerlukan pengangkutan yang menggunakan bahan api minyak. Orang berpendapatan tinggi kurang terasa tetapi bagi yang berpendapatan rendah amat terasa. Bagaimanakah kita hendak mengubah cara hidup sedangkan barang keperluan makin meningkat berbanding gaji yang tak naik-naik. Mesti ada jalan lain selain manaikkan minyak secara mendadak sehingga membebankan rakyat.
